I consulted the unofficial user guide about Auto Dev. and it left me with a question, How much of the image do I highlight as if I'm cropping, I normally click on the upper left hand corner and drag down and to the right until the entire image is highlighted. Then I move my slider (ROI) over to 50%...

The longer you expose then yes, more background noise will accumulate - however, if the target is actually brighter than the background then the signal will always accumulate faster than background noise. Bias and flats you need, but darks are a bit of a waste of time with DSLRs because the camera is not temperature controlled and so it's very difficult to obtain a valid master dark (the camera will heat up significantly during exposures unless you get rid of the battery and use an external power su...

Glenn, You've done a good job with the data at hand. There are a number of issues with the data, with the major problem being the severe vignetting and very uneven illumination. You need to take flats - they are not optional! Another issue is that the data seems to have been meddled with beforehand...

Did you see the Purple haze in the top while processing? I'll see what Ivo can do with it, Ivo, when you look at this, can you work up a file list especially when you get rid of the haze? Thanks
