Process Help for M81, M82
Hello, on 25 January I went out and imaged. The fruit of my labor is linked below. The lights are 4x6minutes captured through my TEC 140 APO ED refractor with TEC field flattener. The scope is carried on a Celestron CGE Pro and guided by an Orion Awesome Autoguider packge mounted side by side. The i...

Star Halo artifacts
The attached image shows an enlarged look at the stars in an image I'm processing with StarTools. You can see halos around the stars. I'm confident that the image is well focused, I capture images on a 60Da with BYE and use the FWHM function to focus. The focus was good. I stacked this image in DSS,...

Re: M33 Stack unstretched. Really this time.
Ivo, thanks very much for processing this stack. I've posted the same stack at another forum for others to try their hand at. Your result is excellent, particularly because I know the data that you had to work with. Later today I will copy your process so I can see the step by step changes to the or...

I'll try again later today.

Please help me learn ST with this M33 stack
The linked image is a 92 MB image of M33. It is a DSS stack of 11x180 second lights, and 3x180 second darks. The image is captured on a Canon 60Da at prime focus on a TEC 140 APO ED (f/7). ISO is 800. There was a good deal of light pollution and moon light. The images are unguided, but there is no t...

Re: Format for submitting image for processing tutoring
Sure, I have all the details. I just wondered if there is a specific format people use when submitting the information. IE object, camera, scope bortle scale, #frames, exposure, ISO......... Or is it just stick in as much a=info as possible and a link to a FITS file?

Format for submitting image for processing tutoring
OK, I have some stacks of images. I have a new computer that won't choke on image processing. I have loaded an image into Google Drive and set it up for sharing with anyone that has the URL. I have worked in StarTools enough that I know enough to ask questions. What is the format for asking you expe...
