Re: Aberration with autodev
... only a product of the defocused channel? you can just choose to not use it for luminance at all by setting its exposure time to 0 in the Compose module But I'm not composing an image. This is an osc shot. This post may be quite related with a previous one I posted asking the same about CA, which ...

Re: wavelet (frequency) decomposition
... go in the opposite direction and "smooth out" areas of greater detail (higher frequency) so they don't look quite so "crunchy"? Indeed the Sharp module uses wavelet ("multi-scale") decomposition to process detail at different scales. I think what you are alluding to, is essentially a basic wavelet-based ...

Sky Backround with L-Extreme Narrowband
... skewing the actual object color (OIII in the Veil's case)? Can easily turn everything Ha red but then lose the bi-color. If I go into the Filter module afterwards and use 'Reject" I can push back the blue/brown sky hue but also hits the subject color so not optimal. Can a selective mask be used ...

Re: Bringing out very faint detail
If the faint detail has a particular color you can also use the 'Filter' module using the 'Conservative nudge' or 'Screen' mode and playing with the filter width. In this image of the Crescent Nebula the outer OIII shell was barely visible and applying Filter ...

... based on the scale of the image and where in the dynamic range the detail is located that you wish to enhance. It so happens a brand new HDR module is in the works for 1.8. I'm hoping to release a first cut in the next week or so. If you'd like specific help for a specific dataset, please ...

Re: CPU/GPU for ST 1.8
... GPU compute and copy graphs throw a 100 percent spike. Again compute has maxed out before, but I don't think I've seen copy max out in any other module. I tried all the other modules, and they all work fine, except for Flux - which crashed out at entry also, and likewise produced a task manager ...

Re: CPU/GPU for ST 1.8
... played with it to OC it. That old thing runs ST GPU surprisingly well, even better than the laptop for some parts (probably the GPU intensive modules?). Except - it crashes entering the color module without fail, and no matter what. I have been unable to figure out why or a way around it (other ...

Re: SVDecon documentation?
Thanks! I was sure I'd seen something like this before but I couldn't find it. I guess that ideally the Help button in the module would point to that page instead.

SVDecon documentation?
... samples work? What do the LoadPSFs or ApodMask buttons do? Etc. If I click the help button it takes me here: https://aife.me/startools-minimalwww/modules/svdecon - is this right? Any help appreciated! I have a feeling it could be a very powerful module and I'd love to know how to use it properly. ...
