... is it correct to use the term contrast in that regard. I've actually been thinking about stuff like this, when free time permits, and how modules like OptiDev, Contrast, and HDR all work. I get the sense there are similarities, though with OptiDev you are going global, with Contrast it ...

... and stress larger structures. These are the sliders we know from Registax or the Contrast Equalizer of Darktable. And of course from the Sharp module of StarTools. And the Contrast module’s ‘Locality’ slider works the same way, I guess. It seems to be much more difficult to find decent information ...

Or blur them in the Layer module (which also can be done with an already finished image). BTW: This appears to be a stars only image, i.e. only ...

Re: Band Balance in NB Accent module
Hi Jeff, At the moment NBA only accepts one file. I don't know if there's any thoughts to augmenting that. Think if we could though -- three slots would allow independent including of S, H, and O onto RGB/LRGB, or even permit processing of 6-filter JWST files! :D We would need fully variable color m...

Band Balance in NB Accent module
Hi Ivo and others, In the NB Accent module in ST1.9 there is a Band Balance parameter which says it balances the application of two narrowband signals. Is that option active? I have tried to load two narrowbands (Ha and OIII) in various ways ...

... Horsehead, but the moon is what it is. Processing has improved quite a bit I think too. In the past you might have "shattered" the image with HDR module. Some of the stars have some ringing or artifacting, not sure if that's from stacking or post. Also some spongy graininess again. No ...

... I like the coloring Yes the ST rendition comes blurry. I don't know where this comes from either. HDR seems not to do a great job , nor the flux module. Yet, it is easily to solve with unsharp mask in eg GIMP. As for star reduction, shrinks works well, but in PI i use a script, so not the default ...

... this on the starless image only . Changed a little bit the color ,left a tad of green in .Saved it as a fits file and went to ST to use the Layer module and putted it together. I did not alter anything in the star image. I like it also. Many details, false color Hubble palet. In Startools i binned ...
