Using mask

New user:
I am trying to process a solar image with genuine spots and several dust spots. I have not been able to work out how to use the mask because the document keeps saying 'not written yet', or similar. I managed to point out two dust spots in green and then invert them. From then on there were no instructions that I could find to proceed. I want to 'remove' them. Can anyone help?

TIA

To be able to help you better, would you be able to provide a sample of the image you're working on?

As for the workings of masking, does the following help?
http://www.startools.org/modules/mask

I have the originals but this jpg version is smaller and still usable for demo purposes.

I will re-read the mask instructions. I may have got stuck first time round.

Thanks for that!
The easiest way to select a spot is to use the Lasso tool, or alternatively clicking close to their edges using the Flood Fill Darker Pixels mode and then Growing the mask globally (using the grow button) or per-blob (using the Grow Blob) brush mode.

After that, launch the Heal module, which will use the mask you give it to heal out the pixels selected.

Hope this helps!
