Rosette Nebula - Hubble

Postby Rkonrad » Sun Mar 10, 2019 4:53 am

Here are the results I got with Irving Pieters data available from Astrobin raw data bank. The data is so amazing with virtually no noise to work with at all. You must look close (especially at the filements just around the centre) I processed it all with startools then went to http://little-piney-observatory.blogspo ... mages.html for information on how to selectively alter the colours to match the hubble palette. I don't have Photoshop so I went to https://www.photopea.com/, basically an online PS clone to do the work. Question: Is this the actual method that the hubble "team" used to develop the palette, or is it someone's concoction to get something close?

Here it is
