NGC 4151 and NGC 4145

Post by Stefan B »

Weather and life reduced the amount of time I was able to spend on AP (and commenting on some of the great images posted here...sorry). But recently I was able to image a star field with two galaxies (and some fainties) over two nights.

Image

Didn't turn I out the way I wanted but it was still a bit cloudy at times and I got more correlated noise than usual. Not much detail in Sauron's eye but surprisingly much in the small NGC 4156 next to it. I struggled with right amount of stretch. Bringing out more faint stuff or rather reducing noise...? Guess we are all familiar with the issue...

See https://www.astrobin.com/6c5fr1/0/ for details.

Nice result Stefan and again very nice coloring. The image is balanced imho, i like it.

Weather is awfull...it has been ages since i could image. i write this post while the rain is really hitting my window next to me.
Glad at least you could get some clear skies!

Thanks, Freddy! And yes, I also heared the noise of rain hitting the window quite often lately. But the cloud cover since January is even more annoying. Let's hope for the best.
