Hello! How can I eliminate really small stars? I am processing an open cluster and my image would gain a lot if I can eliminate very very small stars.

Beat regards

Hi,

Would you be able to upload a dataset?
Generally, it is possible to select small features in the Auto Mask generator, and then manipulate them.
The right parameters need a bit of tweaking depending on the dataset however.

Of course!

This is my dataset: http://bit.ly/2Xh3xfp

I would like to eliminate the tiny stars and keep the small ones up.

If I use the star mask by default I do not know what parameter to change to indicate the size of the stars to select.

Thank you!

Thanks for uploading that.

You can use the Mask generator as follows;
Set "Selection Mode" to "Light Features"
Set "Feature Size" to 1 or 2 (so it only picks up smaller features)
Set "Filter Sensitivity" to " something higher, like 20.

It will now start picking up only smaller features and stars. You can now start to manipulate these features and stars in other modules.

That said, you might also be able to use the Isolate preset (without any particular mask) in the Life module.
This also tends to push back busy star fields, leaving bigger structures more room to "breathe".
