DSS Saturation Adjustment

Post by gboulton »

Anyone happen to know if DSS's Saturation slider is a linear adjustment or not? I know some "saturation" adjustments (Like Vibrance in Lightroom for example) aren't, and the issue came up elsewhere. :)

Hey,

Just saw the Reddit thread where that came up.
Saturation/Desaturation is not a linear process, so its modification should be avoided prior to using Startools and the Tracking feature. In some color spaces (i.e. depends on the algorithm used) a synthetic luminance frame might still be linear, but I wouldn't count on it...
