Possible bug in LRGB

Post by midwayexpress »

I noticed when I tried to use the LRGB function, in 224, with this image (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/614 ... %206888.7z) the stars are slightly misaligned rendering the image un-processable. However, the layer module overlays the stars correctly.

Hi,

Apologies for the delay.
Thanks for sharing the data - it is very helpful!
It simply appears the data is misaligned. The Layer module too shows the data misaligned by about +/- 17 pixels X and +/- 10 pixels Y.
They Layer module will allow you to use the Offset filter to align one of the two data sets, which you can then save as your new aligned data set. Load both up and use a blend percentage to see what you're doing, then set it back to 100% once you're happy with the alignment. It's a little bit of a hack, but StarTools isn't really a pre-processing application.

Also, do check out the latest 1.3.5 Release Candiate version. It's much improved over 1.3.3!

Hope this helps!
