Will Star Tools run under Windows 10?

Like many I suspect, I got the 'free upgrade' offer from Microsoft for Windows 10.

Not even sure my pretty pedestrian dual core system will run it, but if it turns out that it can, will Star Tools be OK with the new OS, or is it too early to say?

Hi,

It's indeed a little early to say, however I don't really expect any issues.
Hope this helps for now!

Thanks, Ivo.

Not sure that being a 'launch customer' for a new OS is a good idea but will investigate bit further.

I'm using Windows 10 Beta since day 1 of testing, currently still running build 10049, and I had used StarTools for processing my astronomy images under Windows 10 since than, I had no problem whatsoever. There is a drag and drop problem between different programs (like dragging files from Windows Explorer to my stacking software) but it does not affect StarTools

That's great news!

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately almost none of my other software will run under W10 according to the Windows upgrade adviser

Like what software?

From astronomical point of view, everything I run under Windows 8.1 is running under Windows 10, except for that drag and drop bug (I will install the final version, I hope it will work by than)

Well, the version of CorelDraw suite that I use for almost all my photo and graphics work won't. Don't know about Deep Sky Stacker, either.

I've only recently upgraded to W7 from XP so W8 is an unknown but the little I've seen I didn't like. Hoping 10 would be a bit less touch screen/ tablet biased.
