fat stars mask after denoise

Post by alacant »

Hi everyone
After a denoise:
mask > auto > fat stars
isn't available. Entering similar values copied from fat stars before into:
mask > auto > stars
after tracking has been turned off does not produce the same mask. I can get around this by saving the fat stars mask from before denoise.
I wonder if there's something wrong in my workflow by wanting the fat stars mask after denoise.
TIA and clear skies,
Steve

Re: fat stars mask after denoise

Hi Steve,

The reason why "fat stars" isn't available when Tracking is off, is because this preset relies on using the Source setting being set to Linear.
When tracking is off, the linear version of the data is obviously no longer available, so the Auto mask generating feature cannot use it.

Hope that clears things up!
