StarTools Hangs Opening FTS files

Hello,
I've enjoyed StarTools a long time now.
But I can no longer open my image files. StarTools 64 hangs. This has been an occassional problem, at times recover on it's own, but now consistent last few days. Total failure opening files.
I'm running Win 7 on a five year old Sabertooth, two NVidia cards more than enough RAM and intend to keep it that way, long as I can. I minimize Win updates. Keep it off. I did update mandatory and recommended last night hoping that would solve this problem. As well, reset all HW up to my cable service entry. In summary, I checked all I can and looks well. I've no hangs with any other apps.
So, I tried the StarTools 32 bit version this morning, because that didn't require an internet connection. I get an out of memory error.
(As well, I'm perplexed here because I don't recall getting the Win "User Account Control" box asking if I desire an unknown publisher "making changes to this computer." Maybe that's a clue?)
I did consider a re-install or repair but don't see it listed.
Any help Ivo?
Thank you,
Dan
