Re: NGC 6357 Lobster Nebula in SHO and HOO

Hi Jeff, I just used the Bi Color preset in the Color Module which takes you to the Duoband HOO setting in the Matrix and then backed off the G bias slider whilst adjusting the R slider a bit. Also bumped up the saturation as well. Surprised me how well it came out Forgot to mention I used L + Synthe...

NGC 6357 Lobster Nebula in SHO and HOO

This is only my second time capturing NGC 6357 commonly referred to the Lobster Nebula ( aka War and Peace Nebula ) First time was over 2 years ago using a OSC and Dualband which resulted in a poor image due to insufficient data and poor conditions. This time using a bigger scope, a 2600MM with 3nm ...

Re: compose mode

Dave,
Insert your data set just as advised above

4hrs into R/ Ha and adjust slider to 14,400 sec
4hrs into G/ Oiii and adjust slider to 14,400 sec
4hrs into B/ Oiii and adjust slider back to zero

As I mentioned you can play around with the sliders a little bit to experiment.

M8 Lagoon Nebula under Full Moon

First time imaging M8 with my 8” Carbon Newt , 2600MM and Antlia 3nm filters. The Oiii filter is noticeably affected by moon glare, very noisy subs. My previous 6” metal tube newt use to fit the whole of M8 perfectly in the FOV but this bigger scope with longer focal length only fits around 85% of t...

Re: IC 4628 Prawn Nebula

Hi Dietmar, Thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated Yes it’s very gratifying when you build your own scope and put it good use( I just bought the carbon tube from Klaus Helmerich and drilled out and fitted my own mirrors , spider , focusers and so on…. Did the same for my 10” Carbon Newt in ...
