Re: Processing the nebulae in orion - wipe and colour
I did not mean to sound obtuse, I should have mentioned that I did take notice of your observation about flat frames from the previous reply of course, I tried stacking with a couple of different sets of flats from different sessions without much success, but I see now indeed that there is no such g...

Re: Processing the nebulae in orion - wipe and colour
I tried stacking again using older bias files - from before I began using astroberry - and the banding problem seems to be gone, I must be doing something wrong in EKOS. However, I am struggling to get rid of the light pollution gradient. Even at 98% aggressiveness it's very strong in the upper part...

Re: Processing the nebulae in orion - wipe and colour
That gradient is indeed pretty bad, but I cannot be completely sure your flats are perfectly working either (you will know from your other datasets - do they perfectly work there?). The "hole" at 8 o'clock is somewhat suspicious, with a uneven lit border around the edges. Vertical banding (I would ...

Processing the nebulae in orion - wipe and colour
Hello, having recently acquired a new PC I am finally processing various pictures from this winter. This one in particular has been giving me some headaches, it's a stack of about 70 120" lights, 20 flats and biases shot at ISO 400 with a modified Canon 100D and a Samyang 135 at f2 on a star adventu...

Re: Crashes in 1.7.449
All is good then, I will consider overclocking the card and see if that makes a difference.
Thank you again!

Re: Crashes in 1.7.449
The TDR value only needs tweaking if the the driver crashes. If it completes successfully, then you should not have to change the TDR value. This is typically only a problem on older/underpowered cards, so you should be good. This is good to know, thanks. (is it precisely 5 minutes? What resolution...

Re: Crashes in 1.7.449
I have upgraded to a new laptop with a Ryzen 4800H, 16GB of RAM and an RTX 2060 for a very good price. I'm running windows 10 since I have read that hybrid graphics laptops don't run very well with linux due to poor Nvidia drivers. Startools is much, much faster (as expectd), however the Super Struc...

Re: Crashes in 1.7.449
I was not able to replicate the same crash on my desktop system with similar hardware. For now I am using the GPU accelerated version on windows as it performs better. I've tried renting a cloud desktop with paperspace, but response times and image quality are not good enough for photo editing unfor...

The output of free is:
Tomorrow I will try it on another linux machine and see if I can replicate, but as you say I suspect that it has to do with my laptop.- Wed Feb 17, 2021 7:56 am

Re: Crashes in 1.7.449
I'm not having any luck reproducing this. However, I just noticed that this topic is about crashes in 1.7.449 (which is a beta version), while the final 1.7 release was 1.7.455 with two maintenance release since. Beta versions are - for obvious reasons - not supported. Could you please see if any o...
