Re: 1.8.525/526 MR1 Autodev, HDR, GPU acceleration in WIN11/10

Hi Pete, I have yet to try W11. Only my laptop "qualifies" on hardware as it is, and just barely as an 8th gen i7. Did you do a clean install rather than an upgrade, or perhaps after an upgrade? I did the upgrade, everything works fine. Ivo explained that HDR does not use GPU acceleration so this e...

Re: 1.8.525/526 MR1 Autodev, HDR, GPU acceleration in WIN11/10

Hi Pete, Thank you for your report. Would you be able to point out the ring you are noticing, as well as provide a dataset and/or a method to replicate? Your should find your HDR observations are all addressed in the documentation . The HDR module has been re-written, which comes with some changes ...

1.8.525/526 MR1 Autodev, HDR, GPU acceleration in WIN11/10

Upgraded to WIN11 and here are some observations. Can't go back to WIN10 for a comparison. See attached pic. Autodev leaves artifacts around the stars: a ring around the stars (this I noticed with winn10 also) HDR seems to run a lot more slowly than Win 10, and I verified CPU running at near 100%, G...

Re: Autodev repeat setting on other datasets

Hi Ivo

Depending on the number of frames it could be rather unmanageable to build a large mosaic and then try to process it in startools.

Would probably work ok for a small mosaic of a few panels.

Thanks
Pete

Autodev repeat setting on other datasets

Hi, I would like to use autodev when I process mosaic images. Once I get a single frame of the mosaic looking like I like it with autodev, which includes using the ROI to get the stretch just right, how do I repeat the exact same stretch on other frames, including whatever the ROI did to the 1st fra...

Re: Nikon D5300 colored concentric rings and StarTools

Great news! Sharkmelley at CNhas solved the problem of colored concentric rings when using the D5300 or other NIkons. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/746131-nikon-coloured-concentric-rings/page-8#entry10867894 Actually the problem is due to Nikon's lossy compression used for the raw NEF files. Ma...

1.7.424 autodev

So I tried out this version and got a strange result in the stars
used autodev with 5.0 pixels ignore fine detail (standard I always use)
Previous version did not do this to the stars
