Hi Dietmar,
I agree with Martin: awesome image. Very tastefully processed. Stars are great, especially the bright ones. Lots of dust and good dynamic range. Noise handled well. Congrats!

Stefan

Re: SH2-155 - The Cave Nebula
Hi Dietmar,
that's a clever way to do it. Also smart to read the user notes. I'll keep that workflow in mind.

Re: SH2-155 - The Cave Nebula
Hi Dietmar, very nice image! If you would have told me that it's pure broadband, I wouldn't have questioned it. I never ended up with such a natural appearance after using duo NB data only :bow-yellow: I also think you're broadband stars are remarkable. So good job with the mask! Did you have to fid...

Re: OSC duoband HOO strategies
Hi guys! Dietmar, you're certainly right that I misunderstood Ivo's intention (although he expressed it pretty clearly), thanks for clarification. I am nonetheless not convinced in terms of documentary value. The issue with processing your different signals non-linearly like that, is that you are no...

Re: OSC duoband HOO strategies
Apart from different integration times it gets even more complicated when different filter bandwidths and different quantum efficiencies for the different emission lines are taken into account. That's why I question this concept for drawing conclusion about emission concentrations since therefore I ...

Re: Sh2-117 (OK, North America + Pelican). Two ways
Hi Ron, both are detailed and deep renditions  I prefer the first version which appears softer and shows more of the faint stuff without losing details. It also appears a bit different with regard to contrast, especially in the OIII rich part of the North America Nebula. Maybe it's due to ...

Re: The Wizard and a couple of stars
Hi Carles, I did a quick process of the Ha part of the l-eNhance image and the NBAccent image. The Ha layer was processed in Mono with all the usual modules like Contrast, HDR, Sharp, SuperStructure (DimSmall) and Denoise. Stars were also deconvolved and shrinked. The NBAccent image was only lightly...

Re: The Wizard and a couple of stars
Hi Carles, thanks for the comparison! Looks promising. yeah, but I mean the fact you have less stars in Halpha, for instance, is that it will color only the stars available, resulting in RGB stars, but less, and more contrast. My reasoning is different. Assume there's a part of the nebula where you ...
