Re: NGC6995 L-eNhance attempt

cheers indeed Mike! thank-you! For me the pattern was really evident when looking at the individual channels in Siril and sometimes at certain zoom scales in ST. After diligent re-calibration, it all looks smooth(er). Dithering every frame in Ekos, which the docs merely state is "random", definitely...

Re: NGC6995 L-eNhance attempt

thank-you all for responding: really appreciate your insights. There must have been an issue with one of my master bias/flat/dark. I redid them all from scratch in Siril and then re-calibrated the lights. When I look at the final stack in Siril or when I import into ST, no grid pattern weirdness any...

Re: NGC6995 L-eNhance attempt

scope is William Optics Gran Turismo 71 mm APO . Dew shield is fully extended always: flats done with 3 layers of white cotton stretched in an embroidery hoop that fits perfectly around the diameter of the shield and then the LCD trace panel sits on top of that with a bit of weight to sandwich it fl...

Re: NGC6995 L-eNhance attempt

I tried different types of diffuser materials, different light sources and settled on the LCD panel + t-shirt. Maybe the ZWO OAG prism is contributing to uneven falloff or maybe the filter drawer ? Im re-doing all my master flat/bias/dark calibrated lights from scratch in Siril to see if I made a bl...

Re: NGC6995 L-eNhance attempt

thanks for looking. I saw that grid pattern as well but no idea what would cause it. My Siril process is - stack bias, no debayer, avg stacking w rejection, no normalization, windsorized sigma clip - stack darks, no debayer, avg stacking w rejection, no normalization, windsorized sigma clip - stack ...

Re: 1.8 closed alpha feedback

Hi Mike, yes, both are me: DeanST = DeanCN (not very original but easy to remember where I am!). Thanks for sharing your process, no need to elaborate the log details. If you click the button with the </> you get what I call "code blockers", which I assume are just inline opening and closing tags of...

Re: 1.8 closed alpha feedback

that is one sweet M5 Mike! I have also been plugging at M5 with 1.7 and now 1.8. I'd be interested
to read your workflow if you could post it from the log in code blockers.

Re: 1.8 closed alpha feedback

Hi Ivo, I am having some issues with SVDecon module on M5 data, in particular the variable star 5 Serpentis. Admittedly, the core is blown but the decon processing adds some unpleasant effects. It would be ideal if not masking it would disable / exclude it from deconvolution. I tried no mask, auto s...
