Re: a number os isues
Hi Richard, this is what I can contribute - ad 3.: Most times these crashes occur due to insufficient virtual memory (settings). Please have a look at this FAQ (which was the solution in my case some time ago): https://www.startools.org/downloads/technical-faq/sporadic-crashes But yes, instead of sl...

Re: M63 - interrupted by - Aurora Borealis
Hi Freddy! :) I agree, this galaxy looks often a bit purplish on images. I think this is because it shows lots of HII regions in it, probably often pronounced by NB accents. These red accents together with the blue of the spiral arms may give a purple impression. And those rich dust lanes may lead t...

Re: M63 - interrupted by - Aurora Borealis
Hi Stefan, thanks! :) Yes, a lot of detail, more than I had hoped for. The sunflower is clearly visible. But honestly, just because of SVDecon. Thanks for pointing out the purple cast. That seems to be a recurring problem for me. Processed seven (ty-seven) times and still off target. :( . I think it...

M63 - interrupted by - Aurora Borealis
Hi all, after - as Freddy wrote - 'ages' of cloudy nights there have been a few clear nights here for me. Finally I solved my problem with the guiding of my EQ6-R via KStars / EKOS. I switched off the internal EKOS guider and moved to external guiding via PHD2. This now works flawlessly. I've no ide...

Re: Bayer drizzle
Thanks for pointing out, Ron. I'm also sure that money will be better invested in new hardware.
Instead of buying PI and supporting their monopoly (just kidding?) you could consider to make a donation to the Siril team or to buy a T-Shirt from their shop

Re: Assistance requested - eclipse image
Hi, I think there's a problem with the FITS file. It seems to be monochrome, but there is a Bayer matrix pattern clearly visible. It needs to be debayered, but that's not so easy as it is opened and treated as monochrome. I tried to convert it with FITSWork "CCD to RGB" and to split into 3 b/w image...

Re: Donut stars
hist.csv is sort of irrelevant for now. Please have a look at stretch.csv and then we can go forward.

Re: Donut stars
I'm pretty sure that despite thinking I downloaded version 2, I am still ending up with version 1 I'm sure I'm messing up the explanations, sorry. So step by step, we will get that right. File size should be 6.656 bytes, date 2024-03-30 20:41 After running there should be two CSV files: - hi...

Hi Mike Mike in Rancho ! Back again ;-) Yes, the DLL is used to read the TIFF files. https://bitmiracle.com/libtiff/ There are a lot of examples how to use. It’s a .NET port of the famous libtiff library. TIFF sounds simple, but in fact it’s a complex format with lots of incarnations. It is possible...
