Re: M13 with double integration time
Personally I like the flux sparkle effect a lot. I've just tried it out on my own M13 and to my eye it makes a fantastic difference, as long as you don't over do it. I don't think the flux module can invent stars. Pixel peeping between a before and after 'fluxed' image it appears to be sharpening, a...

Re: Save log as sidecar file
Hi, I have added functionality similar to this in the latest version of STReplay (v0.62.86) see here When used in 'Monitor Session' mode there are now two options: Save session log with image Save session masks with image So whenever the image is saved the StarTools session log and/or session masks...

Re: Colour post adjustment
Hi Ivo,
I kind of suspected something like that but thought I'd ask in case StarTools offer to attempt to reverse the stretch when loading non-linear data made a difference.

Colour post adjustment
HI, sometimes I've processed an image, thought I've finished, saved it off, and then when I've seen it on a different display or under different lighting conditions I'm not happy with the colour balance. I can go through re-processing the image from the start with different settings in the Colour mo...

Save log as sidecar file
Hi Ivo, Having recently discovered the joy of STReplay I now appreciate the value of the StarTools log. This leads to a feature request... Can we have an option to save the relevant section of the StarTools.log as a separate file at the same time, location and base filename as the saved output image...

Re: Please critique my M13
Hi Mike in Rancho,
Another cracking version.
Regarding the artifact on the right, I went back through the subs and I think it might be a smear on the Coma Corrector. It's on every sub but so faint it's nearly invisible even at full histogram stretch in Siril.

Re: Please critique my M13
Thanks to all that chipped in. I've settled on this version as my final attempt (for now). https://storage.googleapis.com/dso-browser.com/astrophotography/picture-54d2ac104dd07f12c337a78e3840a579-original.png I think I've fixed the colours to be more natural, opened up the top end dynamic range a li...

Re: Please critique my M13
Hi Charles,
That's a great result, thanks, and now I see it side-by-side with mine I can see the touch of purple around my core.
Any chance you could share your log so I can precisely see the processing differences?

Re: Please critique my M13
Wow, thanks Ivo. :D That means a lot coming from someone with so much experience of image processing and analysis. While I'm happy with the end result I do feel that I had to abuse the processing quite a bit to get there. I think I need to improve my actual data to have a chance of a nice result on ...
