I'm having a desktop made for me and was wondering about storage and the pros and cons of a scratch disc. Ignore my question about lower resolution as I see that can be done in Windows. Having used the filters on rtings.com, the monitor at the top of my list is the LG 27GL850-B. I was looking at a 2560x1440 QHD display on a 27 inch monitor. For pixel critical work can the resolution be turned down? Or do I have to zoom in?

I'd add that my existing graphics card supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1600.
