Excellent as always. You certainly do a very good M8 and M20 Martin!
M8 is a great subject for the HDR module, particularly the revamped module in 1.8. Worth a try to see if it's to taste?

Re: Crashes when using GPU version
Hi,
How does the crash manifest itself?
What sort of GPU solution are you using?
Are the solutions/considerations in this thread of any help?
Thank you,

Re: Help with starless image
Hi Rowland, Great to see you back on the scene, and I hope you're well! For the removal of stars for aesthetic reasons, you may have more success with the AltStars preset in the Auto Mask generator (only available with Tracking on however!). This new feature (new in version 8) uses a star detection ...

Re: Converting Ha Mono to ‘RGB’
Ivo Thanks so much for taking the time to draft both of your posts. Of course StarTools can do Solar! Why did I ever doubt it..?! I was actually watching your ‘live’ demo on the Astro Imaging Channel last night: any plans to do something similar for v1.8? I can’t explain how helpful that video (and...

Re: Converting Ha Mono to ‘RGB’
As an aside, in my DSO images I am struggling to bring out the ‘typical’ red hue associated with star forming regions in galactic spiral arms. Would your suggestion work here, ie use the Compose module to ‘add’ a dedicated red channel and combine it? For this you'd use the NBAccent module (assuming...

Re: Converting Ha Mono to ‘RGB’
Hi Matt, There is a false color palette, specifically for solar imaging. You can access it in the Color module via the Matrix parameter (choose "False Color: Solar"). It should yield a yellow starting point, but you can use the bias sliders to change the hue (e.g. reducing the green bias slider will...

Re: Choice between two PC's to use with Star Tools
Hi DaRiv,
The desktop would be the better choice here. It's CPU is marginally faster, and in particular, the GPU is superior.
Hope this helps!

Re: M51 processing questions
Thanks Dietmar. I'm specifically wondering how to get rid of that haze surrounding the adjoining galaxy. Anyone else have any ideas? I have seen a lot of other pictures of M51, and a lot of them have this haze, so it must be a common occurrence. I'm just wondering how I can eliminate that in proces...
