Re: NB processing help appreciated!

Hi, I didn't have any particular problems processing your dataset. Of course, just 1h per band is not very much signal, but there is enough there to show the object; NewComposite.jpg Usually, Ha is by far the strongest signal, so it is not too unexpected for the O-III and S-II signal to be weak but ...

Re: [WANTED] 1.8 alpha test subjects!

Hi all, Just an update on this, I'm targeting end of the (coming) week for this. Mother nature interfered in some rather catastrophic way with my release plans for Friday (yesterday) last week. The fiercest storm I have ever experienced in my life tore through our region on Wednesday, bringing down ...

Re: Simulate RGB image with SHO filters

When we create the S+H+O and S+H we should set the 'Luminance, Color' to 'L + Synthetic L from RGB, Mono' So we save the results as a mono file. Is that right? Thanks Guy, Indeed, you can do that for good measure (it is the 'proper way' of doing it and and it shows excellent comprehension of what y...

Re: ST vs Dark Archon

Hmmm... I'm not quite sure I follow... The EZ suite of scripts just seem to pre-bake and chain some basic operations, or am I missing something? If I understand the EZ suite correctly, then I'm not entirely sure how that is similar to the fundamental signal processing principles behind StarT...

Re: Simulate RGB image with SHO filters

Thanks Ivo, that's great. :D I will try it. Do you have any suggestion what color settings should I use in color module? Andrej You'd do something like this; To create a synthetic luminance frame from S+H+O (for your detail), you would import S, H and O as R, G and B and keep the result (save this ...

Re: Simulate RGB image with SHO filters

Hi Andrej, The closest would be to; create a synthetic luminance frame from S+H+O (for your detail) create a red channel from (S+H) then load S+H+O as L, (S+H) as R, O as G and B This should get you the closest to what those bands would look like in the visual spectrum, while making full use of the ...

Re: ST 1.7.461 crashing on Mac while using the Color Module

Thank you for reporting this. This is the first time I have heard of any lingering instabilities on ST 1.7... :( In particular I have not heard of any stability issues in the Color module for a long, long time. Therefore, it sounds like a machine/configuration-specific issue, possibly related to GPU...

Re: Scratch disc?

Hi, These days there is probably little to gain from having a fixed sized scratch disk. Most modern 64-bit operating systems create and shrink swap files automatically as needed. Most modern applications rely on the OS to supply enough working memory (or allocate virtual memory via a swap file). Wit...

Re: Compose Module Bicolor exposure

With additional data, it seems that I'm on top of my earlier low colour problem. I may also may have made subtle changes to my workflow, but I don't recall and am I'm not 100% sure. Sometimes accidentally skipping Wipe (don't!) can cause colors to come out barely or not at all. Would that perhaps h...
