Re: Messier 106 et al.
dx_ron The TriRGb filter overall transmission is around 20-25% of my uvir broadband filter, with corresponding increase in exposure times. At F7 i can swamp read noise (RN^2 x10) in bortle 5/6 boundary with 180s exposures with the Altair 26c at gain 100. It has three bandpasses, all about 30-35nm. ...

Re: Messier 106 et al.

I regularly use Bin,sharpening...

Re: Binning
Thanks Ivo, thats perfect.
I have always used integer bins in the past, and had excellent results,
But with a new focal reducer I am looking at fractional ones now.
Didn’t want to compromise the quality in any way.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: The state of saving
Thanks Ivo, that helps a lot. I take note of you comment on file size, certainly in the past its a big issue, but nowadays disc space is cheap etc. Its not so much of an issue. My sort of point is that , with the fantastic new hdr, deconv etc, processing can take a long time, and occasionally there ...

The state of saving
After years of loving using ST, (2013!) I still realise that i do not understand some things. This topic is about saving files part way through the process. For example, lets say i load a linear osc file via open or compose, then autodev, bin, wipe, contrast and hdr. If i save the file then, what is...

Thanks Stefan, thats very helpful information.
I agree on your thoughts of superstructure after the NBAccents, makes great sense to me!
Thanks for taking the time to detail your process.
