Atik's Dawn output Tif files

Hi All

Does anyone stack and calibrate their Atik files in Dawn ?

The resulting Tif file will not load into Startools and reports what type of files it will open. Is this a problem in Startools or Dawn does anyone know.

Thanks in advance

Re: Ha, R, G, B data -> synthetic luminance

Hi Ivo During your reply to this post you said " This will change in 1.4 with a revamp of the LRGB module." Has this happened, what has changed in the work flow and could you do a demo with the data from this post seeing as it is so good. http://forum.startools.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=645&p=2532#p2...

Ivo guides us through Startools

Hi Ivo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqm4mB2TKN0 I have just found your workflow in this you tube video of a Google event that took place about 6 months ago. A few technical problems as with all hangouts but a really useful and insightful work through a data set. At 2.5 hours it is quite long but ...

Registar and FITS files

Hi Ivo I asked some time ago about putting fits files through Registar as their website was a bit ambiguous as to how it treats them. I emailed last night and got the following back this morning  "Steve, RegiStar currently reads 32-bit FITS files but converts them internally to 16 bit. We hav...

Re: Best Computer System for Proccessing

I am also waiting to replace my netbook for in the field use and then processing the results. I have seen somewhere on here Ivo answer this question in a somewhat vague way. By that I mean just in general terms without naming a brand etc. His top tips seemed to be the processor with the most amount ...

Re: DSS vs Nebulosity vs ???

All I did was to suggest the 'pause' line. Jim It was still a great help to get things running correctly Jim. I found on my laptop I had put the DCRaw.exe into the wrong directory and on the desktop I put the path in the DCRaw.bat wrong. I had C:\windows\dcraw dcraw -v -r 1 1 1 1 -4 -T -S 32767 -k ...

Re: DSS vs Nebulosity vs ???

Thanks for the pause heads up Jim

Worked a treat and now I can run any folder full of cr2 files with one click.

It does seem strange stacking tiffs in DSS instead of raw files.

Any settings I should be aware of when stacking tiffs in DSS ?

Regards
Steve

Re: DSS vs Nebulosity vs ???

OK I found this information on the same site as the last bit and it sort of works apart from when I run it every line says no such file or directory and it produces a *.PPM file as the output. I was expecting a *.Tiff, any idea why it did that. DCRAW SCRIPT FOR WINDOWS To avoid having to use...

Re: DSS vs Nebulosity vs ???

If you want to give DSS unaltered data to stack run dcraw(with proper parameters) and feed those to dss to stack Thanks Che, this is exactly what I want to do. We are talking about things where a lot of assumed knowledge is taken for granted. I found this little gem and now I can get dcraw to run. ...
