Help with Wipe, Develop
Hi, I am having a bit of troubles removing vignetting from my images: I am using a modded Canon 1000D, and before stacking (DSS) I am converting the subs, flats and bias to linear TIFF by using DCRAW. However, when I try to remove vignetting I end up either with either too few removal, or if I incre...

Re: Flat with modded DSLR
Hi Rowland,
no, I didn't try with a laptop: I have a C8 and my laptop screen is barely enough for covering its aperture, but I could try. Moreover, I could also display a colored background to correct for the enhanced red sensitivity of my modded camera... let's see!
Thanks,
Nico

Flat with modded DSLR
Hi! I have a problem taking flats with my modded DSLR (Canon 1000D): using the white t-shirt method results in flats which have a reddish tone. As a consequence, the peaks of the R, G, and B histograms are at fairly different locations and if I keep the red from saturating, the blue is underexposed....

Re: Newby having hard time with M13
Ivo, thanks! I quickly tried and stack only subs with the same exposure using "average" combination, and the results are much better now: I can get better colors and saturation! Maybe this topic has been already discussed in the forum, but what are the best options to use in DSS for getting the best...

Re: Newby having hard time with M13
Thanks Che! I like your result: however, I still feel the colors are bit too "warm" and that I am missing some saturation. Maybe it's because I am used to the "canonical" way of displaying such images, which could differ from what one gets by using a more scientifically accurate palette… Ivo: I am s...

Newby having hard time with M13
Hi! first of all I would like to thank the developers: I really like Star Tools and the "philosophy" behind it! However, I am having some hard time processing M13: I acquired a series of exposures (5x8min+5x4min+5X2min) using a C8+FR (f=1260mm) and a modified DSLR and stacked them using DSS. The res...
