Like what software?
From astronomical point of view, everything I run under Windows 8.1 is running under Windows 10, except for that drag and drop bug (I will install the final version, I hope it will work by than)

Re: Will Star Tools run under Windows 10?
I'm using Windows 10 Beta since day 1 of testing, currently still running build 10049, and I had used StarTools for processing my astronomy images under Windows 10 since than, I had no problem whatsoever. There is a drag and drop problem between different programs (like dragging files from Windows E...

Re: Multiplatform development
I'm crazy, but not crazy enough. I'm thinking about using CodeLite with wxWidgets. It won't be graphics heavy, I need more the ability to deploy as well for Windows as for Linux too, maybe MacOS down the line. Let's see, thank you for the ideas, I have a few more weeks two think about the concept un...

Multiplatform development
Hi! I have a not so astronomy related question but I'm curious: soon I will have a new software for a client and I'm thinking about to take the cross platform development way, but I don't know where to start. What IDE ate you using for development? How do you manage to develop/build for multiple pla...

Re: Where is this fog coming from?
From a white zone I think a CLS-CCD filter would help you, although I don't know if there is such a thing for Nikon, most probably there is. Dust haze might be a possibility too for your data. I'm using StarTools only for a few months so I'm learning too, I watched all the tutorials, I read the foru...

Re: Where is this fog coming from?
I hope you don't mind, I took a run on your image. I saw your artifacts too when I did wipe, so I cropped out a few pixels from the margins (with StarTools). I'm pretty sure you can do a better process on this data, I did not try very hard too bring out max details (like I did not use the HDR modul ...

Re: Has ST development stopped?
I really don't think we should see real time results. I think it's more thank OK to see only steps where you need some user input and than the final stack. the in-between stuff can be don with some progress bar or some information somewhere on the screen to see that the software ain't frozen (so usi...

Re: Blend together multiple images
Thank you. I never thought to align the two images once again with a stack software. I always used Photoshop. I will try that, thank you

Re: Need help running installation
You don't have to install anything as far as I know. Just start "StarTools-Windows32.exe" if you have a 32bit WIndows or "StarTools-Windows64.exe" if you have a 64bit Windows. I did not install anything as far as I can remember

Blend together multiple images
Hi! I have some pretty bad Orion Nebula data from last December (just about my third astro photo try), but I tried something different there: knowing the bright core of the Nebula, I made two sets of exposure: some 118x120s ISO3200 for the outer part of the nebula, and same amount but with 20s for t...
