Re: Random crashes (version 1.4.352)

Occasional crash in 1.4, seldom 1.3. Usually a large file and some processes or ran out of space on root partition.

xubuntu 18.04 LTS 8mb RAM 4 core i5. No problems so far with 1.5.

Re: Utility to replay StarTools sessions

mono seems to be a preferred option with VB.NET or C# in Linux. A project to watch with interest. mono did not install well on my xubuntu system even with the ubuntu supplied packages.

Old thread I know. Would a Bash script in Linux be possible or is it necessary to write in C++?

Processed in 1.5.360 - raw image was a 2 x drizzled fit file of ~228mb. Default settings - Bin 50%, AutoDev, Crop, AutoDev, Wipe, Aut...

Re: DSS Deep Sky Stacker and Background Normalization

If this is of any value whatsoever, never having used DSS or Nebulosity and using normalisation only as a contrast measure, programmes such as PixInsight do not normalise data, unless selected. There seems no reason to do so.

"Crop" should be in there to? I think that should be just before wipe if I'm not mistaken.

Ah! Thank you Richard. My images are auto-cropped prior to opening in ST, so Crop is optional. I will edit the post.

Re: Beginning image processing

A very basic workflow to get started and then tweak from there... Open Select option 2 Optional - Bin 71 or 50% for noise reduction - see below Crop - before or after Bin and before the next steps. May need to use Dev to see the areas to crop; then AutoDev - default Wipe - dark anomoly 2 AutoDev HDR...
