Re: Choice between two PC's to use with Star Tools

Thanks for the response, although not exactly the answer I wanted to hear. I was thinking to move the desktop to observatory duty, and use the laptop for processing images, but turns out the desktop is the fastest PC I have right now. I can confirm in side by side tests on the same data set, that th...

Re: Help Me Process My PacMan Data

The data was actually collected over two years, both Oct of 2019 and Oct. 2020. I have trouble getting blue to come through. You seem to have gotten more of it then I did. I think I went with the second SHO mix in the list and bumped the green bias up a bit and also the saturation to around 250%. I ...

Help Me Process My PacMan Data

I've been working on the Pacman nebula and have collected a lot of SHO data. I've done what I can in ST, but I always feel like there is something more I could have done to improve the image. I'd like to see what others can do with this data. Ha 61680 seconds https://www.dropbox.com/s/xcovblqo081n85...

Re: Ghosts of Cassiopeia

Ivo, That's really amazing what you can accomplish. Can you give more detail about the use of layer in this example? or perhaps post the log of what you did? Two of the modules I hardly ever touch are layer and filter so this kind of new to me. I see how you use the filter. But it kills all the blue...

Re: Low-cost GPU solution (current as of late 2020)

I have an "is it worth it" question. Currently I process on a laptop with i7-6920HQ 2.9GHz CPU 32GB RAM Quadro M2000M graphics Win 10 I also have an old workstation I use as a media server and am wondering if it would be worth using it to process with if I put one of these cards in it. I run the ser...

Ghosts of Cassiopeia

I've started a new project and I'm wondering what to do about very bright stars?
What can I do to push the color and reflection of the secondary back?

Thanks!
