Thanks Che, yes but I find I have to strongly reduce the magnitude of the effect before the result becomes acceptable!

Re: LRGB what's happening here?

How much did you have to crop it by, Chris? Even a fairly hefty 100 px per side crop doesn't get rid of the effect and the owner (who is a pretty experienced astro imager) has already cropped it (according to post 20 in the linked thread). Best to use AutoDevelop first and look critically at the ed...

Re: LRGB what's happening here?

It needed cropping before doing anything else, there were stacking artifacts and they cause this effect.

Re: My most recent - ic2177, Heart neb, Rosette

Chrisa, I'm new to NB imaging and everything I get is green because of the H-A strength. When you process the channels in ST, what do you do to balance the colors so as to get a more pleasing image? These are great! That's a common problem, the Ha channel is usually the strongest and it will tend t...

Very nice detail in the reflection neb Che, maybe a bit more saturation would be nice?

Re: fringe killer filter add blue back to central star

I'm not sure if it's possible but... if you can apply the 'Magic' tool to just the Blue channel that would effectively shrink the blue halos without losing saturation in the star cores. If you cannot do it in one step like this (and I've never tried this so I don't know for sure) then you could, as ...

Re: amp glow

Hi OK. Thanks. Just to be sure: subs: Is this 20 of everything or 5 of each. Or something else? What does 'subs' mean? FOV: randomly hit the ra and dec nsew keys on the handset before each light frame? Sorry if this is all rather basic, but I really appreciate your time. 'Subs' = Sub-Exposures whic...

Re: amp glow

I don't see any evidence of amp glow just a general red bias which is commonly caused by light pollution. With a DSLR you need many more than 4 subs (start with 20), and you should also use dithering between subs (which means to move the FOV a few pixels each time in a random pattern) to even out th...
