Re: Very pale colors in Duoband image

Wayne have you taken a mask to sample white balance of stars ?
This is what you want for RGB images but it doesn't help with duoband /bicolour as there is no natural rgb look to the stars under this configuration. I second Ivo's request to see your data.

Re: crash on shrink version 1.5

Thanks Ivo. The update fixed for me the wipe and shrink module.

fixing background "blobs"

I frequently encounter this problem when denoising a noisy background - instead of fully removing the noise, it blurs it so there's a multitude of blobs/patchwork throughout. The moderator of the dslr processsing group I'm part of, recommended a process using layers but I'm not sure how to apply thi...

synthetic luminance for rgb/osc

I was wondering if there is any point to loading up a standard dslr/osc image to "compose", then create a synthetic luminance derived from rgb (simply adding the same data to all the channels). Would this strengthen the luminance or is it simply redundant? I've tried it and get, I *think*, better re...

Re: Which stacker?

I too have been trying out Siril and it's remarkably fast. I'm about 70% understanding it though and would love a tutorial - especially how to incorporate calibration frames into it.

Re: Dealing with Dew

Thanks, I noticed that. This doesn't always happen in processing attempts using the same technique - this and the last being one of the few examples. Why does this happen? Also, you're quite correct that the nebulocity to the left shouldn/t - doesn't exist! It must be a poor wipe for the Ha data. Pe...

Re: Dealing with Dew

Hi Simon, I gave your data a go omitting the S11 data to give a bi-colour image. The method was basically the same as the video I posted earlier (generally). To get the Oiii to come through I had to process the Ha and Oiii separately then recombined them. I had to do a wipe with the Oiii data using ...

I didn't get "something like this".... perhaps you meant to attach an image?

Getting correct colours with Ha(L)RGB

I was fortunate enough to find some great data from a post in Cloudy Nights of M16. The imager took HA, R G and B. So as there's no luminance data, I used Ha as L in the compose module. The red colour is really off I feel. What would be some techniques to make the ha data as naturally red as possibl...
