Re: repair stars
Sorry I think I didn't word that right. Here is an unlisted youtube video showing you the problem. StarTools just continues trying to heal and freezes. I'm using the latest alpha. Version 1.3 seemed to work this time! I tried it earlier but it also froze. Nevertheless here is the video (the image is...

Re: repair stars
Yes If I, I'm masking out a single small star. Perhaps I can send you a unlisted YouTube video for you to see?

Star Shrinking Under Tracking
Though this procedure may not be new to some, I discovered it by accident working more extensively under the "life" module. Michele generously offered her data of a wide view of the Veil Nebula - an area with a particularly dense field of stars. Shrinking the stars early in the process helps with re...

Re: astro pixel processor
Hi Rowland,
Just reading your tips on separating channels. I was wondering what would be the advantage to this? Does it improve colour accuracy? Thanks.

Re: astro pixel processor
Hi Michele, Thanks for your data. Sorry I can't contribute to the core of your questions but I downloaded your final stacked image and had a lot of fun. Great data! Would you mind sharing what scope do you use? (hopefully upgrading at some point soon from a cheapish zoom lens). I didn't have any iss...

repair stars
I have been trying to use the "repair" algorythm specifically, "residistribute - core is average location". In both the 1.3 and most recent 1.4,the computer just hangs for hours even if only one star is selected. I have a pentium i3 with 23.5 gigs of memory.
Thanks Richard

Re: aligning channels - offset
Thanks Guy,
I worked it out. I align the images (2) and record the offset. Then I crop the background by the same amount. Following, I crop the foreground the same amount but on the opposite x and y axis. This then makes them the same dimensions exactly.
Cheers

Re: narrow band processing without rgb
Hi Guy, Well in the end, I found I got the best result (for me) simply loading the pre-processed Ha under red, and the Oiii under green and blue. I went to the colour module and masked all but the stars, selected "sample" and worked from there with dark saturation controls. I have the rgb data for t...
