Re: StarTools 1.9 preview
Hi, my suggestion to relief the mini hickup situation: 1) By default, the "Space"(Stars visible) preset would set Synthetic PSF to zero awaiting the user to click a sample star. 2) It would also preset to only 1 sampled iteration or two, until the user is has selected all stars. 3) Potentially it co...

Re: 1.8 SVDecon (post1)
Hi Helge, I am not sure if I understand what You would define as "look better". A matter of taste might be worthless to discuss, but probably one needs to get used to it. Please look at the vertical triple star towards the bottom left side of your image. Without Decon it is more like a vertical stri...

Re: Startools V1.8 Spatially Variant PSF Deconvolution
Hi Martin, Your images are great! If I am not mistaken the reversal part is valid as long as You are processing, as You can use the Restore button to revert back to Linear/Original, Wiped or Stretched status. Once you have saved the processed image, it will probably be hard to reverse Decon, but why...

Re: Wipe woes
Note that, for the behavior near the edges (where data becomes sparse), you can configure how the module should "make up " for the missing data using the Gradient Edge Behavior (I just noticed "Bounce Back" is mentioned twice in the 1.9 alpha - the third option should read "Absorb 50%"). This was a...

Re: StarTools 1.9 preview
Hi Dietmar, P.S.: Do you have some kind of text file containing all translated texts? If so and if you think it makes sense, you could send me this file via PM. Yes, I have compiled an Excel file which contains all items in 3 langages. I'll send it to Youby PM. I could not get the language config to...

Hi all,
As we are still in Alpha, I'd like to encourage german native speaking users to provide feedback on the german translation
Is it helpful to You?
Do You have any suggestions for changes?
Regards,
Jochen

Re: IC 1805 Heart nebula - Red or Pink
Hi dx_ron.. The pink is not caused by O-III, but by Hydrogen, receiving higher energies, enough to create those teal H-beta and blue H-gamma lines, resulting in pink when mixed with red Ha. California is known for having a prominent H-beta Signal. Still You can use the NBA slot, load an Ha or Duoban...

Re: Deconvolution and file types
Hi Stefan, I think the better path would be the linear one. Outputting stretched files from APP, would require You to reverse the stretched file while importing into ST (as "non-linear sRGB source"), but that would result in losing signal fidelity. If You really feel the need of "polishing" ST image...

Re: StarTools 1.9 preview
Hi Mike, Now, I was testing this data out without any binning (full APS-C) and maybe that was part of it - the blue boxing just didn't scale itself well to the viable star candidates that were in fact found? What image size does Your cam have? If I am not mistaken, the blue boxes should autoscale, c...
