Looks great to me. Are you planning to take color too?

Re: Navi and her ghost - in progress

Ron, I would leave Navi just the way it is. There is no real halo like surrounding, or concentric circles like i see often in my pictures. Ok it has a strong glow but frankly i don't find it obstrusive. My Navi looks less good, it is blue and also big and also a faint halolike blue center... https:/...

Re: IC 1396 Trunk in HOO

Redid the whole process...but this time i used a starless nebulae image , i combined it with a nebulaless image, so only stars, Shrinked those too.

I think thisone is the best of the 3

Re: IC 1396 Trunk in HOO

hmm...i guess i am starting to understand... I took a color stack , made a mask of the stars and inverted and substracted in the layer module. That left me with ...well stars. Then again in the layer module combined them. My source color stack was not exactly the best, but well it was an experiment.....

IC 1396 Trunk in HOO

I guess i should post this... Ron seems to struggle with the blue and since he asked how to do here is perhaps something that he would like. I reprocessed my Elephant trunk nebulae in HOO using the L-enhance stack only... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2arqmyi17e7z2gvlzm3lz/TrunkInHOO.txt?rlkey=bd5s...

Re: The Hidden Galaxy

Very nice startcolors Stefan, and nice image overall!

Just wondering, why did you switch to OAG? I guide my 130 mm F/7 refractor with a guidescope without problems, at least sofar. I do use a ASI 290 mini cam, bit more sensitive then a 120 mini and a 60 m guidescope with F=280 mm.

Re: Another Soul - badly framed

My God Ron, you brought me onto ideas...

It should be quite possible to produce a red/blue trunk....see below TRIAL DIRTY picture, stars are messed up and more stuff going on, but well a red/blue trunks should be possible...with the L-enhance stack only..

Re: Another Soul - badly framed

Yes Ron, i am planning indeed to add more data. Only the weather is very unpredictable, i gets clear but still rain can fall..like this evening..very nasty. I would also like to take a normal color one without any filter to get somehow color in the stars. Guess that will become a bit a work in progr...

Re: Another (very faint) Ghost

Hi Dietmar,

I fully agree with Stefan. That is a really nice picture. It is well balanced, great starshapes en good color. Nebulae maybe a little bin dim but it still stands out well. And nicely framed! :D

Well done!
