Re: Please beware of the following website and individual

Oh he is obviously smart, but bad advice is bad advice which ever way you look at it. What's the saying? He can talk-the-talk but cannot walk-the-walk when it comes to astrophotography ;-)

Re: My most recent - ic2177, Heart neb, Rosette

Chris, if you want to get rid of the satellite trail in the Heart nebula, give the heal module a shot at it. It usually does a pretty good job of it. Sat trails don't especially bother me ;) Che Thanks, I'll have to try that - the only time I have in the past it removed all the stars and figured th...

Beautiful images Chris :bow-yellow: I especially like your California nebula. It has a wonderful 3-d effect of floating in the stars and has beautiful highlights. All are well done :obscene-drinkingcheers: Che Thanks Che, glad you liked it :obscene-drinkingcheers: That one was published in this mon...

My most recent - ic2177, Heart neb, Rosette

We're suffering record poor weather here in the UK and skies have been mostly cloudy for the past 2-1/2 months. Just 3 clear nights in that period that I can recall and I used them all. As a result I still have many outstanding targets which are incomplete or not even started. This post represents t...

I just got threatened with libel by him... LOL! Jon Rista is having a tough time trying to get through to him but I admire his persistance.

Re: Please beware of the following website and individual

By coincidence I also had a run-in with him on DPReview where he's spouting his rubbish to all and sundry (and taking in quite a few newbies). I had cause to go look at his website and was not impressed, either by his 'theories', statements of fact, nor (in particular) his practical results. He was ...

M33 LRGB

Combined some Lum data I captured last year with new Lum data + RGB a couple weeks ago, so a lot of subs in total (79 x 900s). I don't normally do RGB images but I made an exception for this nice galaxy :-) Scope: Televue NP127is @ 660mm CCD: Atik490EX @ 1x1 binning Mount: 10-Micron GM2000HPS Guide:...

Re: Strange artefact - help needed!

Yes, definitely stacking artifacts, when you do a stretch after a wipe they cause this result. Do an 'Autostretch' first so you can see the dark edges then crop inside of them (well inside of them). Then you do a stretch again (choose re-do global stretch).

Re: M 17, Omega Nebula(Swan Nebula)

Looks like Green was removed from the first process? The bright stars in particular are a better colour in the second example. Nice images anyway :-)
