NGC 3137 With Interacting Galaxies

NGC 3137 With Interacting Galaxies This image is part of my on-going investigation of peculiar galaxies in the Southern Hemisphere. I believe this is the first time NGC 3137 has been imaged and published by an amateur. This galaxy is a member of the NGC 3175 group, which is similar to our own local ...

Re: Freeze after "New Folder"

Not to worry. These days I just make sure that my destination folder already exists before saving a StarTools file.

Freeze after "New Folder"

I may have uncovered a bug. After having finished with processing an image, I'm running into a problem with "Save." When you press "Save" you are taken to a standard MacOS window, which allows you to create a new folder. If you press the button for creating a new folder, StarTools freezes. I'm using...

Re: NGC 3100 and NGC 3095—Galaxy Pair in Antlia

Hi Ivo,

Good catch. That green snuck up on me.

I'm a fan of MaxRGB. One's eyes and brain get used to what's on the screen. MaxRGB is a remarkably fast way to return to reality. You just have to remember to use it!

NGC 2310: a Boxy Lenticular Galaxy

I just uploaded this image and text to Astrobin, at https://www.astrobin.com/q8hkd2/?nc=user The image will get a tepid response from Astrobin users, because they are mainly interested in aesthetics. But I enjoyed uncovering this strange, little galaxy. **************** NGC 2310: a Boxy Lenticular G...

Re: NGC 2217: The Swirling Galaxy

This image received a Top Pick from Astrobin this morning. I used to be a pure PixInsight person and I doubt that I could have achieved such a pleasing result from PI by itself. These days, I use PI only for preprocessing. The hard stuff is done entirely in StarTools. Thank you Ivo!

Re: Completed Modules Indicator

Hi happy-kat, I'll just mention that STReplay doesn't work with Mac computers. I think Topgraphic made a great suggestion: "I like the last idea of the log file being available by the press of a button (with an option to hide the mask details preferably) and a save possibility. Perhaps an option to ...
