Re: L-eNhance star colors

You are right, I may have touched some saturation slider differently on the color module.

Re: L-eNhance star colors

Thanks Ivo,

For reference, I've done this with my L-extreme data. I think just adding the narrowband as Luminance and the rest as RGB works pretty well, with the benefit of not having to deal with masks.

Re: L-eNhance star colors

Hi Ivo, I'm interested in the details of this "star color drop in" process as I've recently purchased an Optolong L-extreme filter and want to test it myself, some questions: * When you say "process both stacks separately" you mean post-process both with StarTools and export them as separate TIFF fi...

Re: Ugly star halos - what am I doing wrong?

Hello Ivo, Just for documenting reasons, I'll leave a comparison. And maybe you can clarify this: Is the FWHM measure a good way of evaluating the dataset in absolute terms? I mean: can I say for example, all subexposures above FWHM 4.5 should be discarded? It would be nice to have some numeric meas...

Re: Ugly star halos - what am I doing wrong?

Hi Ivo, I tried your suggestions without much improvement, so I tried stacking the best 20% & 50% of the data I have, and I think I got much better results, so my question is: Do you think focus discrepancies within an imaging session could produce the color fringing that was appearing? I'm consider...

Re: Ugly star halos - what am I doing wrong?

Hi Ivo! Sorry, I shouldn't have sent the multi-bortle stack, but this is happening even when I use one set of shots. I've now worked on the bortle 3 stack, uploaded the here if you want to take a look: https://siasky.net/CABKiap5DMFPxZQvwzG4vRjxFw9DPrj0IyW40iCie5qCtA (the FITS file) https://siasky.n...

Ugly star halos - what am I doing wrong?

Hello all, I'm still trying to get better with StarTools, and I'm having a common issue with all my images: the resulting star halos look strange, and I think I'm not overprocessing the images, almost all modules I use default values, so here I am, asking for your opinion. I'll use my latest capture...

License file management request

Hi Ivo! I think it would make life a lot easier for us users, specially those who try all the betas, that the "license" file could be placed on the user's home directory just once, and the app would try to fetch it from there (maybe if it doesn't find it on its own dir, to continue supporting that m...

Re: Struggling newcomer looking for guidance

As a bonus, I attach the edited result of 13h integration with the scaled master dark. I think it looks very good!

Re: Struggling newcomer looking for guidance

Hello Ivo, For what it is worth, the 13h image appears less noisy. What zoom factor did you use here (for the image)? Don't remember really, but now I've done the same comparison adding a version of the 13h integration using just 1 scaled master dark (as per APP's definition) created from around 130...
