Hi everyone, the recent bad weather period made it easy to take a break from AP, not only from imaging but also from forums and the like. Visiting astrobin from time to time I saw 100+ notifications of new images of people I follow and I closed it again immediately  In the meantime I wanted to ...

Re: The Hidden Galaxy
Thanks, Ron! I see, I will try that! Though decreasing DEC aggressiveness from 100% to 70% already led to a guide error of ~0.5''. I also had to adjust the exposure time from 1 to 2 sec. I had the impression that I was chasing the seeing (also with multi star guiding) which might be expected since n...

Re: The Hidden Galaxy
Thanks, guys, really enjoyed your feedback! My only observation is maybe slightly over saturated with Color in main body of galaxy and the Star field which detract from fine details. The stars seem a bit too colourful but that’s only my opinion ? I agree on the stars being too colorful, Martin. But ...

The Hidden Galaxy
This is rather a test shot than a dedicated project. It was the first light for my upgraded imaging train now containing a GPU coma corrector and an OAG instead of a Baader MPCC and a guide scope. Furthermore the filters are now applied via a filter drawer instead of being threaded in front of the c...

Re: 3 images in progress
Hi Ron,
thanks for the interesting quotes! Will have to read into that.
It also makes for a nice close up as I recently saw: https://www.astrobin.com/h6trai/

Stefan

Re: Another (very faint) Ghost
Hi Dietmar, seems you already considered everything :) But one part of your reply made me wonder...you said more than 60 secs is probably too much for your setup. In terms of tracking/guiding? Or overexposure? Probably not tracking since you use 240 sec subs for the l-eNhance filter, righ...

Re: Another (very faint) Ghost
Good one, Dietmar! Not an easy target with 60% moon. Very good job on the stars. The Ghost is already well visible. I usually use the 'No ROI' approach when the FOV contains more nebulosity than background. But here it might be a reasonable approach to get the faint stuff. Maybe we would ...

Re: 3 images in progress
Hi Ron, I really like the Bubble, especially the one with more nebulosity. In my experience a difficult target, at least I was struggling to get a picture out... The trunk is also pretty cool. I like the unconventional coloring of the pre GIMP version :) The Garnet star doesn't distract but it has a...

Re: Soul Nebula
Hi Carles, So I had to try regular NBaccent workflow with low agg on wipe and got similar results as that astrobin link saturation.jpg I like that rendition. I had a similar result with saturation on 200% like in your case. I throttled it down a bit. I try to tame my images and myself in that regard...

Re: Another Soul - badly framed
Hi Freddy, already very promising image. Great to see what you were able to pull out of the little time you had. I also made the experience this year that it stayed often clear much longer than forecasted. So if it was forecasted to be clear until midnight I just hoped for the best and it often work...
