(obsolete) Two new tutorials posted
Hi all, I started on a series of tutorials, that will take you through the very basics of using StarTools through to processing a full image. They come as PDFs and are also viewable on-line. The first two installments are now available in the download section. StarTools Tutorial #1: Using the interf...

A word about RAW/CRW/CR2 files and debayering.
The reason why some other applications allow CR2 as input, is because they stack images as well, not so much because it is a priori meant as an input format for processing. However, if you're comfortable for now with single exposures, do stick with that for a while until you're comfortable with othe...

Re: AAIC
Hi Nick,
I believe the 32-bit version problem has now been fixed as of version 1.1.100.
Running the 64-bit version will give you a much better experience (as well as a better result), so, if you can do use the 64-bit verison.
It's Dutch by the way

Re: AAIC
Thanks Ivo, Ive downloaded the program and have unzipped it and can not get it to open. I only get a black screen. Any ideas?? Hmmm... that's a poor first impression. What sort of system are you using? RAM/CPU/32-bit/64-bit? Where did you unzip the file to? Please make sure that the folder you're u...

Hi Nick,
It was such a thrill meeting everyone and rubbing shoulders with the 'rockstars' of image processing!
Let me know how you go - I'd be happy to answer any questions or help you process your data.

Re: libmv.so
I've reverted back to using GCC for Linux 64-bit instead of EKOpath. These dependencies are a bit of a headache both from a build and licensing point of view (EKOpath has just been open sourced).
The new download (1.1.91) is up.

Re: libmv.so
Scratch that - it's got nothing to do with GTK+. It's an ekopath compiler dependency. Let me fix this...

Re: libmv.so
Hi, StarTools relies on the presence of GTK+ 2.x for simple file dialog stuff. GTK+ 2.x itself relies on a number of other shared objects such as (probably) libmv.so. Static linking of all these libraries is not really an option as that would effectively require making StarTools open source in the p...
