Re: Bayer matrix showing?
My first thought was - he's used the wrong matrix selection (because that's what happened to mine before someone here told me to check out the matrix (eg brrg or rggb). However, your comment about the others processing correctly suggests that it is not a wrong selection. Do post again when you have ...

Star Tools selection for multi-band filters
Until recently I was using my M25C OSC camera for imaging, using a standard light-pollution filter. ST processing was therefore 'normal'. I have obtained a multi-band (MB) filter which comprises Ha+Hb+S+O. I have noticed that there is an option to selection Narrow-band imaging during the early stage...

minor request for save
When saving and image, I frequently forget to add the terminator (jpg or bmp - and get an error). Could ST produce the choice at the point of saving - please?

Re: repair remains unavailble
Hi Lawrence, I'm unable to replicate this on 1.5. Repair is unavailable while Tracking is on, but should become available once it's off. Repair is not used for healing satellite trails, rather this is a job for the Heal module... The Heal module similarly is not available while Tracking is on, but ...

repair remains unavailble
No matter what stage the processing is in, the repair module remains inactive and cannot be used. I have put a mask around a satellite trail but I cannot remove it because of the inactive repair. Can anyone advise please?

doing a mask when the problem becomes invisible
I have been tackling an image using the usual sequence: autodev, bin, crop, wipe - and then needed to do a mask. However, as soon as I select mask the whole image changes such that the actual problems become invisible. This stops me masking the localised problems out. What is it that I have omitted ...

Re: green background during noise reduction
Hi Lawrence, Which version of StarTools are you using? v 14332 Please remember my original query of some time back: The manual notes have no version numbers and contain large sections labelled 'to be written'. Every time I download the complete (latest) version it turns out to be the same version a...

green background during noise reduction
Although I seem to be making progress during my learning of ST I still come across problems where I cannot identify what should be done. This is problem number 1: When I get a generally acceptable picture (given my own knowledge limitations) I enter final noise reduction. The first stage involves ad...

autodev query
During the wipe process, autodev can be set to 'temp'; this lets us quickly see whether a process will be improved by a later autodev. However, I frequently find that when I actually do autodev for the second time after wipe, the result is totally different. I often stop at the first stage because t...

request a pause before exit!
Before I ask a minor request, I would like to mention that for the first time in many years I am finally able to get some meaningful image processing - all because of Star Tools. I have used different i.p. software over the years and never got on very well with them. Finally I am getting there with ...
