Re: Autodev brightness
Hi Ivo. Every time I use autodev I'm pretty sure it seems to produce a darker image than using Dev. Is this normal behaviour and should I just increase gama to make it brighter? Hi, Do you mean comparing the image between the results of the home-in functionality in Develop and a full-frame RoI Auto...

Re: Limit memory use
Thanks all. Yes I have alot of swap so I'm not getting crashes. But I raise this issue because it's not apparent to a new user and even if you think you have enough RAM/swap but then drizzle you run out and then you crash wasting hours of processing time. The software really shouldn't allow the syst...

Limit memory use
Drizzel images are almost unusable in startools as the software uses all ram/swap, but it will/does crash the linux 64bit system. We really need a setting to limit ram/swap use to 90%, or startools creates a virtual swap file if it runs out of memory. Normal images still use alot of memory, but is f...

Re: deconvolution
Ivo this issue happens on 64bit program linux when RAM runs out. I have 12GB of RAM and a 20GB swap partition and it will crash without swap. But using drizzle images even these crash the system. I really think you need to implement memory control where the software is limited to 90% of RAM/swap.

Decon behaviour
Hi Ivo, When using decon I always find that I cannot have a radius size greater than 1.7pix (when using an image scale of around 1.25"/pix) otherwise I get dark halos around small stars. The thing is the nebula responds well to a value of up to 2pix, but I cant push it because of star halo. Any tips...

Re: Histogram
Ivo, I think it is useful. For example I know when stretching data that if the histogram peak is about 25% along it results in a manageable background so it would be nice to know. I am assuming that "home in" is doing the same but sometimes it's nice to know via the histogram if it's worth pushing t...

Timetravel from log
This would be a useful future feature: Ok so we have a log file that shows our workflow. Lets just say at the very end I go gee I wish I had not sharpened quite as much. So we open the image, modify our sharpen amount to a slightly lower value in the logfile (extracting the relevant info), hit run a...
