Compose Module Bicolor exposure

I was just wondering, what's the best value to set the exposure sliders to for Bicolor in this module when using mono Ha and Oiii filters? I know to set Luminance/Color value to "L + Synthetic L from RGB, R(GB)(GB) (BiColor)" For example I might have: 50000s with my Ha filter 50000s with my Oiii fil...

Bicolour Total Exposure

Hi, I was wondering, using the Compose module, what would my total exposure be if I was processing 28680s of Ha with one mono filter and 15840s of Oiii with another mono filter? After selecting "L+ Synthetic L from RGB, R(GB)(GB) (Bi-Color)", Do I simply load the Oiii as 15840s in the blue channel a...

Re: Deconvolution and Dawes limit

Wow, that's a lot to digest. I'll take a deeper look in due course.

Excellent answers as always.

Thanks Ivo!

Deconvolution and Dawes limit

Hi, Consider the following scenario. I have a 60mm F6 telescope with a calculated Dawes limit of 1.9 "/pixel, and an astrocam with 2.3 micron pixels. This gives me an image scale of: 2.3x206.265/360 = 1.32 "/pixel. Now this clearly outresolves the optics, but along with Decon module's intended purpo...

Re: APP thoughts

APP all day, for me. Not even close.

Way more options than DSS, including excellent gradient reduction and stacking of dissimilar image scales.

Downsides are you can't save stacks (only calibrated files) and it's not free (not that I'd expect it to be, considering what it's capable of).

Re: OSC Optolong l-eNhance colour

Hi, I just wanted to add that I've added some specific Duoband functionality to the Color module in the latest 1.6 alpha. This lets you choose from different channel assignments (and thus color schemes) without having to reprocess/reload the data. Clear skies! Just reprocessed my previous Duo-NB da...

Awesome, Ivo!

I'll take a note and try this when I get chance.

OSC Optolong l-eNhance colour

Hi, I've recently started using the above mentioned filter in my imaging, and was wondering what's the best way to go about using the Colour module, if at all. Currently, I process as I normally would any other OSC image, but I skip out the colour balance step altogether, as by it's very nature, the...

Re: Fancy processing my M78 stack, anyone?

Just been playing with the v1.5 pre-release, for which Ivo was kind enough to link me to. Back to processing old data, and this dataset came to mind. Ideal for back to back version comparisons. I'd more or less given up on it, because it was: 1) A mish-mash of different exposure lengths which didn't...
