A section of the LMC. An area rich in interesting features . Not a great image - more of a survey. Lots to keep me going with longer focal length over the SH summer. Processed in 1.5.360 - raw image was a 2 x drizzled fit file of ~228mb. Default settings - Bin 50%, AutoDev, Crop, AutoDev, Wipe, Aut...

If this is of any value whatsoever, never having used DSS or Nebulosity and using normalisation only as a contrast measure, programmes such as PixInsight do not normalise data, unless selected. There seems no reason to do so.

Ah! Thank you Richard. My images are auto-cropped prior to opening in ST, so Crop is optional. I will edit the post.Rkonrad wrote:HI Rowland,

A very basic workflow to get started and then tweak from there... Open Select option 2 Optional - Bin 71 or 50% for noise reduction - see below Crop - before or after Bin and before the next steps. May need to use Dev to see the areas to crop; then AutoDev - default Wipe - dark anomoly 2 AutoDev HDR...

Hi Richard. What mount and camera do you have. For many years I ran a standalone intervalometer with integrated ditherng unguided _ It worked exceptionally well. I have the code and hardware specs if you are interested.
