Re: DSS setting
I see that a "No white balancing" option has been added to the latest DSS beta at Ivo's request - please can he advise which of the StarTools image open options should now be used (the second from the left?).

Re: Which stacker?
I've adopted Siril over the past few months via the excellent front-end utility Sirilic which simplifies the setting up for pre-processing, alignment and stacking and passes the necessary commands to Siril to do the work. The main advantages are as follows: - it's free (though I'm sure donations are...

Re: An approach to subduing Halos?
Hi Ivo, thanks again for your feedback on this. Please could I make a feature request (assuming it makes sense!) - when working with the Layer function on non-stretched data (including data previously restored to linear/wiped form) it would be very useful to have a (temporary) stretch operation with...

Re: An approach to subduing Halos?
Here's a full process based on the blending of the Oiii halos with Ha signal (green interpolated) The workflow I've used is as follows: - Open the stacked Ha, manually Dev it to mid-stretched sky background, save it as "Ha stretched" - Open the stacked Oiii, manually Dev it to match the Ha sky backg...

Re: An approach to subduing Halos?
Here's a trial using a similar mask, with the (stretched and saved) Ha as the background, blended in where the stretched Oiii foreground is light; I've set the mask fuzz at a roughly optimal point but there are still some artefacts from the halos. Would you recommend any alternative Layer settings t...
