Re: Can I use layers to combine different stacks of the same target?

With several nights and mixed data I would be tempted still to throw them into DSS. Each night with it's own lights into a separate file group each (not the default main group but added groups). Decide on the one reference frame for all and mark as reference and tick (file group1). Add this frame to...

Gosh if it is that faint not surprised you needed a light bucket to capture it. I can see three companions captured in your image. Great stuff.

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?

Thank you for that great reply Ivo. I will learn to look away and not take assumption of what I see is right as I had begun to doubt my processing as I could not replicate the strong blue and golds regularity seen and had not thought to think of it as enhanced. If I like what I've managed then that ...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?

There is something about the blue and green data that gets wiped in Wipe module. Admittedly I worked on the original jpg shared and using compose first created separate file for each colour channel. Split into channels and used wipe and managed this. 51548776619_4da637c88e_o v3.2.jpg Split channels ...

Re: Huge green bias

as darks are darks then after the lights and flats, you can remove the camera to do bias, darks and dark flats. use camera body cap and could put camera in bag or cover to ensure no light ingress

Sounds like your processing approach would fit very well with using the excellent STReplay.

Re: Huge green bias

If the rig is untouched you can take new calibration frames if they are not temperature sensitive. Flats and dark flats are fine to do and so are BIAS files I think. Darks are temperature sensitive.

Re: Ivo - Thank you for implementing the circle and drag function

That's a great use and example on that image, thanks for sharing. I just used the new mask and removed the star centre and used Heal as the star field was quite dense around the problem star and that worked great (new darker than old off). I can see me using this new mask when dealing with CA I have...
