Leave the hot pixel in the dataset, Ivo would say, << it is best to deal with hot pixels within startools. Removing the hot pixels using DSS or stacking program will create artifacts...>> and then StarTools will not react very well to the processing done during stacking. Ivo, any comments? Good luck...

I have compared DSS and ASTAP stacks in startools, and the ASTAP stack provides results that are much better than DSS. In DSS, i have tried all available options with the same results. So. Like you I can't explain why ASTAP is more compatible with StarTools, but I no longer use DSS. I am glad I disc...

Ivo, I read in your 1.7 manual about ASTAP and recently processed an image using it. Wow! what a difference compared to DSS.
No going back for me!

Would be nice if in mask, the user could create a perfect circle. Like point the mouse on the screen and with mouse wheel enlarged a perfect circle. Here is the process final image. I also removed 2 satellite trails in your image using Heal module. Before stacking, remove these artifacts as they will produce unwanted gradients... But here it is and done in under 10 minutes. Clear skies to you. If you want the workflow let me know.. Nothing wrong...
