Re: M81, M82 IKO processing competition on SGL
Thanks Ivo, I do struggle with colours for several reasons: lack of definitive reference, rubbish monitor, and most of all I have red-green colour blindness. I've tried a further edit paying attention to the Max RGB as you suggested... https://storage.googleapis.com/dso-browser.com/astrophotography/...

Re: Last used directory
Hmmm, it doesn't for me under Linux (Mint 20.1 Cinnamon). It always opens in the directory where the binary is located. It remembers the selected directory throughout the session but when closed and restarted it always reverts back again.

Last used directory
Hi Ivo,
Please can you add the behaviour to open the file browser called from Open and Compose at the last used (by StarTools) directory rather than the executable location?
Thanks for this amazing tool
Ed

Re: Compose module crash
Hi Ivo,
That makes complete sense, thanks.
For anyone else who comes looking in similar circumstances, if you're running Nvidia under Linux then:
1. Using nvidia-smi at the terminal gives some useful usage info for some GPUs.
2. I feel your pain.

Re: Compose module crash
The machine is a 2013 MacBook Pro, running Linux Mint 20.3, 16GB & 16GB swap file, Nvidia GT650M. The issue isn't permanent. Sometimes I can reboot, run as normal and not have a problem, other times it hits. Once the problem has occurred, it is consistently there until I reboot the machine, closing ...

Compose module crash
Hi, I have a problem where loading some files in the Compose module causes a full crash but the same files can be successfully loaded using the Open command. I thought that 'Open' used the Compose module in the background but something different is clearly happening here. Here is an example of a fil...

Re: Please advise a HaRBG workflow for my data
Hi Ivo, Very diplomatically put. So my data's rubbish - I'm not upset or even surprised, this was a very quick grab to practice workflow rather than anything else. There are some point you've made that I'd like to understand more... Calibration issue - I believe that the horrible gradient are down t...

Please advise a HaRBG workflow for my data
I've read that there are several possible workflows for combining data sets and that the choice of which to use depends on the data, the 'rendering intent' and just personal choice. My personal aim is an aesthetically pleasing image (detailed clouds of red nebula) rather than scientific accuracy. Pl...
