Re: Selecting the right GPU
Is it recognised by other software? In case your graphic card is Nvidia, have you tried selecting from the Nvidia Control Panel-> control 3D > Software setup > then add StarTools GPU.exe to the list and select to use the Discrete GPU instead of the integrated one. if it is AMD I am not familiar with...
Re: NGC 3718
Hi Stefan! I think it is a great result, and specially considering the issues you had! You got pretty good details too, and colours are nice as well :D about the ASTAP... yeah, for me it was the hot pixels from dithering that remained in the image. Tried different ways and didn't work, but Siril doe...

Re: Sharp Edge to halos left after Fringe killer
Hi Lee, glad you like my rendition : ) I struggle to get the difference from red to yellow core maybe you could try playing with colour bias in Color module. try reducing red this is from the log, module step --- Color Parameter [Bias Slider Mode] set to [Sliders Reduce Color Bias] Parameter [Style]...

Re: Sharp Edge to halos left after Fringe killer
Hi Lee, I had a go, too. Not sure if I could get the colours right for the stars, and the problem is that after Filter, if I go back to Colour to tweak the nebula or sth, it get the effect back.. so left the colour this way although too yellowy for me, tweaking colour balance in photoshop or lightro...

Re: Horsehead Help-Processing Advice
Hi Matt, as per flats, if they showing vignetting then the main image should do too. when in doubt, try stacking without one of the calibrating frames, you can do this with only few of your sub frames, no need to be all of them (to make things faster.). For instance do a run without Darks, another w...

Re: Horsehead Help-Processing Advice
Hi Matt, You're welcome In this cloudynights post, there seems to be the answer https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/564484-how-can-i-eliminate-bright-star-reflectionartifacts/ It could be the result of internal reflection. I don't know if there's any way of avoiding it... I have an lx50 8"sct but hav...

Re: Horsehead Help-Processing Advice
Hi Carles Thank you so much for having a crack at this, and for the tips. I’m using an older version of StarTools to yours, so maybe there are a few elements I cannot replicate. I am impressed, particularly with respect to the more natural looking star colours and detail left. Could you post your l...

Re: Horsehead Help-Processing Advice
Hello :) since there's that big reflection..plus other on the opposite side, I've first binned, then Crop it off, Wipe, with Uncalibrated 1 , reducing Aggressivity to around 20%, rest by default. Followed by FilmDev to around 95% Digital Develp. And after that Contrast, HDR -Tame, Sharp, Colour- Leg...

Lower's Nebula in SHO kinda thing , with OSC
Hi all, haven't been much active lately, but wanted to share this shot. Is taken with an OSC qhy8L, and l-extreme filter from Bortle 7-8, also "normal" colour from this filter, mostly Halpha and Oiii. It was stacked first as usual file, then splitting Halpha and Oiii channels in Siril in Compose, Lo...
