Re: StarTools 1.6.382 alpha is big; please report any issues
Thanks for the updates. The behaviour of the OS seems really quite bizarre - it really sounds like it is randomly revoking file system write access on a very low level. I've observed this on Linux systems where the OS has detected a hardware failure and places the media in read-only mode. I've seen...

Re: StarTools 1.6.382 alpha is big; please report any issues
Hi Ivo, thanks for testing... Yes, the sessions are usually slow due to full-frame camera. I never had those issues before though. I cross checked with old ST versions which have the same issue: crash when a save is carried out. These issue appeared after updating to Catalina (macOS 10.15.2) However...

Re: StarTools 1.6.382 alpha is big; please report any issues
Ivo, another crash (in 1.5) - this is what I found in the terminal, maybe that helps: 2019-12-07 07:27:53.017 StarTools[1918:27211] /Applications/StarTools Folder/StarTools.app/..// 2019-12-07 08:51:59.867 StarTools[1918:27211] Error while swapping tracking information to disk. Re: StarTools 1.6.382 alpha is big; please report any issues
Hi Ivo, just wanted to let you know I now had a similar issue in 1.5 when KEEPing a CROP result. So it rather "feels" like a MACOS Catalina issue for me rather than a StarTools fault. BTW similar crashes or strange error messages happen with other software on Catalina (Mail, Google Earth,...) - they...

I uploded the stack as well. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p14jlm9cqkbbo0v/Stack%20NGC1499%20551mm%20f5%200%C2%B0%20ISO3200%2016328.0s-WC_3_3.0_none-x_1.0_LZ3-NS-full-qua-add-sc_BWMV_nor-AAD-RE-noMBB_1stLNC_it2.fits?dl=0 It`s actually a rather poor one. However I did not see any issues so far. I had a s...

Re: WB improve for Light Pollution Filters
Hi Ivo, I put test shots on the dropbox. These are Sony RAW files, shot with an unmodified Sony A7II. The TestChart is a combined version of the 2 drafts. Includes standard color checker fields as well as my own "astro color" design. Hope it is useful. - https://www.dropbox.com/s/5oh850bvv2j31rd/Ast...

Re: WB improve for Light Pollution Filters
I do not own a test chart, so I compiled a PDF for print out. I hope this approach would work for initial testing. I shared it with you on the dropbox. It contains various pads, please let me know which would work best for you. You need to wait for the next weekend for the shots however. We have ton...

Re: WB improve for Light Pollution Filters
Hi Ivo, yes I use an IDAS LPS-D1. For DSLR lens I use an LPS-P2. Both are very similar with few cutouts so would be a good start. Both allow yellow greens (570nm) and orange (620nm) hues pass in a small 10 nm band and cut 580-610nm (plus other bands). It is not so much the lost energy in the yellow ...

Re: WB improve for Light Pollution Filters
Hi Ivo, I was referring to something different. The Color Module applies a R/G bias correction applied to the whole image. I am talking about the software checking the pixel's R/G levels first and in case the correleation was high (i.e. similar R/G values), the filter would add the same absolut amou...
