Hi,
I think it would be useful if Startools shows a banner when a new version (stable and/or alpha) is available. I normally use alpha versions and from time to time I go to startools web site to check if there is a newer version.
Thanks!

Re: OSC Optolong l-eNhance colour
In 1.7 you don't, as long as you choose the long-but-descriptive 'L + Synth L From R(2xG)B, R(GB)(GB) (Bi-Color from OSC/DSLR)' option. The 'R(2xG)B' bit before the comma denotes luminance is re-weighted for you to incorporate 2x the green channel. So, just select this option, load the same dataset...

Re: OSC Optolong l-eNhance colour
Thanks for the explanation, Ivo; it makes sense! One last question. Do I need to double the green exposure compared to red and blue when composing?

Re: OSC Optolong l-eNhance colour
Hi Ivo, Please let me do a newbie question. What's the point of composing an image from a rgb one? I intuitively get it, but when I think it twice I get confused. When shooting with a mono camera with filters, I get it; you have forcibly to compose and mount the image. But when you are dealing with ...

Good flats?
Hi all, I would like to know your opinion about the following flats. Taken with a tablet with an uniform and white background, covered with a stretched white shirt: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q4fguzi15eqv6sy/covered_Flat_012.nef?dl=0 Same config, but without white shirt (directly with the tablet): ht...

Re: Help with M42 + CLS filter
Hi Mgutierrez, it looks better indeed :D and you're right, your filter is a dual band, So I guess the workflow has to be specific. Although you've used "bicolor" and there's a mode in Compose for "Bicolor from OSC/DSLR" maybe that'll yield better results? Let's hope someone can bring bright into th...

Re: Help with M42 + CLS filter
Hi again, I had another try and this is the result: NewComposite2_01.jpg And this is the workflow I followed: Sun Nov 22 17:08:38 2020 ----------------------------------------------------------- Loading red channel data File loaded in LRGB module [Autosave007.fts]. Loading green channel data File lo...

Re: Help with M42 + CLS filter
Hi Carles,
Thanks for your help.
So, is it not necessary to use the compose module as I read in another thread with the l-enhance filter? I understand that the cls is also a dual filter, but broader.

Help with M42 + CLS filter
Hi all! Last night I was trying my last toys; autoguiding and a svbony cls filter. I started to play with M42. I got a very few lights (dithered) and a few flat files (dark flats as well). Although my dataset is quite poor, my intention was only to test both autoguiding (I have to finetune) and the ...
